Time with the Grandmas...

We had a quiet couple of weeks in Indiana while Quinn and Sullivan were back in SD with the family.  Well it might have been quiet, but it sure wasn't uneventful.  We were busy applying new epoxy to the garage floor (which is a LONG story for a different day) and I was up to my ears in craft projects.  Nonetheless.  While we were back in Indiana, the girls were getting spoiled beyond belief by everyone in SD.

Here are some highlights of their time with Grandma Jane...so many amazing memories made with her!

Having a picnic lunch in the living room...

Making slime...

Bowling...

Quinn and Sullivan painted rocks and then took them to Falls Park to hide.  Apparently that is the 'thing' to do in Sioux Falls right now.  You paint rocks and hide them around town for people to find.  If you find them, you can take them to keep or leave them in place.

At Falls Park...

Riding the Trolley to Falls Park...

And finally, having a picnic lunch at Falls Park...

There aren't as many pictures to document their time with Nana, but they aren't short on the memories made and the things that they did.  They went to a movie, hit the mall for some shopping, went to Chuck E. Cheese, and much more!

Getting a FULL pedicure at the nail salon.  The girls were in hog heaven because their mom seldom allows them that royal treatment!

At the mall shopping...

As you can see, they had a great time with Grandma Jane and Nana.  Lots of amazing memories made.  More to come on Quinn and Sullivan's Black Hills adventure with the Kempers...!

Returning Home...

After spending a couple of weeks in SD without us, Quinn and Sullivan finally returned home!  Words can't even describe how THRILLED I was to see them and smooch them and hug them!

Uncle Eric and Kristen were so gracious to bring the girls back to Indiana and spend a couple of days with us.  On the way out they spent the night in a hotel.  Here are the girls with E & K's new puppy, Miles.

Two tuckered out girls traveling... maybe the past three weeks were catching up to them?!

Quinn and Sullivan had the best time entertaining Miles and got a little practice in for when our puppy arrives!

One afternoon, although it was about 1308 degrees outside, we decided to go play mini golf.  Despite the heat, we had a great time, but the rivalry between the brothers wasn't solved.  The game ended in a tie, with both Eric and Ryan winning.

The following day, we headed downtown to the Canal where we rented a pedal boat to explore the Canal.

We really had a great time on the pedal boat - each taking our turn to pedal the boat and steer us down the canal.

Here is Captain Sullivan...

And the rest of the crew....

After exploring the Canal, we headed down to Monument Circle to have lunch and check out the monument.

We decided to check out the observation deck of the monument...the window we saw out is WAY at the top...

Up in the observation deck, we had some pretty great views of downtown, and also around Monument Circle...

We had such a nice visit with Eric and Kristen, and are so thankful that they were willing to make the long trek out here!

Puppy Update...

Here is the latest picture of the puppies.  These are the 2 females that we will have to choose between in a couple of weeks.  As of right now, there is a majority vote for the top puppy.  We will see as the puppies grow if that continues!

We just might be closer to choosing a name too. We have it narrowed down to a few!

Freedom Festival 2017

The weekend before the 4th of July, Fishers had their annual Freedom Festival.  It turns out life must have been crazy 'round here before we left, because I failed to post these pictures!!

Here are some highlights of the Freedom Festival - crafts, good eats, entertainment, and a parade.  Who can ask for more?!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

After an incredible week in SD, Ryan and I packed up our bags and hit the road.  We left the girls in SD so that they could have some one-on-one time with the family and go on vacation with the Kempers.

On our way back to Indy, we made a pit stop in Chicago to take in yet another baseball game this summer.  Neither of us had been to Wrigley Field before and were ready to cross that one off our list.  Make that 5 baseball games in one summer!  Whoa, baby.

Man alive, Wrigley is one incredibly field.  There is definitely a lot of history and character in that ballpark.  I'd have to say it was one of my favorites...glad we were able to experience it!

The Puppies be Borned...

We have been eagerly anticipating this day for several months, but finally it is here!!!

The puppy that we will bringing into our family in September was born this week, on July 8th.  The mother, Millie, had 5 puppies - 2 girls and 3 boys.  In a short while, we will be able to pick which little girl will join the Pooley household!! Can't wait!

Now our next task is agreeing on a name for this little peanut!

4th of July - 2017

The 4th of July was a whirlwind day...lots of fun, sun, and memories made!

As has become tradition, we loaded the kids up in the car and headed to the small town of Lennox for their 4th of July parade.  I think I say this every year, but this parade is just the epitome of what a 4th of July parade should be - small town feel with a variety of participants (airplanes, firetrucks, politicians, horses, and MUCH more).

After the parade, Meredith and Matt had friends and neighbors over to the house, along with Grandma Jane and us.

Quinn and Sullivan quickly hooked up with their friends, Halle, Reagan and Camryn, along with their cousins.  Together they all played and laughed and had the best time.

I don't think I took any pictures of them playing on the bouncy slide - how that happened, I'm not sure.  But I did capture this cute picture of them all in the kiddie pool.

While the little ones were having their fun, the adults made their own fun too.  We played a game called Hammerschlagen, were you are essentially trying to be the first to hit your nail into the log.  Sounds easy, huh?  Not so much.  You use the pointy edge of the hammer - men use one hand, women use both.  Despite how bad we were at the game, Ryan and I had the best time playing!

Grandma Jane even got in on the action.

We also took our hand at Yard Jenga...

A day of playing makes for hungry bodies....

After dinner, the tattoo parlor opened shop and Derrick and Aaron were applying tattoos...

Ryan got in on that action too... who can resist a tattoo?

Especially when it turns out this cute...

As day turned into evening, we made our way on front to shoot some fireworks.  To preface that, the Sioux Falls Police had warned residents that they were cracking down on fireworks this year.  You were allowed to use small fireworks like smokeballs and sparklers, but weren't allowed to shoot anything that emitted sparks into the air. Violators would be assessed a $95 ticket.

About 10 minutes into our fireworks, we had a friendly visitor stop by.... just to make sure "we were only doing smokeballs and sparklers, right?" "Yes, officer.  Of course that is all we are doing."  Wink. (Or at least until you pull away).  He really was a nice guy, just doing his job!

(Notice the torch that Matt is conveniently trying to hide behind his back!?)

We had quite the fireworks display that evening and were beyond surprised our officer friend didn't come back to visit us.

Here is the whole gang of kids.... cousins, friends, neighbors.  Not easy to get a picture where everyone is looking.  We will take what we can get!

Earlier in the evening while fireworks were going on, some of the kids and Emily made homemade ice cream.  Here they are rolling around the can helping the ice cream form....

This little squirt couldn't get enough of the snaps... I remember that stage very vividly with our girls!

The three of us ladies...

The older girls were having so much fun, and didn't want to night to end.  Auntie and Uncle were sweet enough to let the 5 of them have a sleepover.  After fireworks, they settled in downstairs to watch a movie.

In the morning, the girls (and Judson) enjoyed a great breakfast.  Sleepy eyes filled those girls' faces - and rightfully so since most of them were up past the 1:00am hour!

Another amazing 4th of July for the books.  Looking forward to another great one in 2018!
