While We Were Away...

It goes without saying that we had an amazing time in Bonaire.  But while we were away, Quinn and Sullivan were having an equally great time back in SD with family.

Their time with Nana and Papa included pottery painting...

Doing Legos...

Hanging out with Murphy...

Getting manicures...

Shopping...

And an Escape Room (amongst other things)...

After Nana and Papa's house, they headed to the Kempers.

They were lucky enough to go to the Wisconsin Dells with the Kempers and the Livingstons.

At the Dells, Quinn and Sullivan had a blast with all their cousins.  They got loads of pool time...

And even rode this waterslide...

They did go-carts...

And a ropes course and zip-lining...

And time just chillin' and soaking in time with each other...

Quinn and Sullivan are beyond blessed to have so many people that love them and spoil them and want to be with them.  We count ourselves lucky to have such amazing family that are always so willing to have Quinn and Sullivan!

Bonaire, Part 2...

Along with sightseeing and snorkeling and soaking up the sun, we also took in quite the dining experience too.  We got our fancy clothes on...

Then we went to a place called Chefs Bonaire.  It is a quaint 16 seat venue that serves a 5 course meal.  Being that I MIGHT be a bit picky when it comes to eating, I was a little nervous.

All fears melted away when I tasted the amuse bouche.  It was a risotto truffle ball that was absolutely delicious (and that wasn't even course #1 yet).

I'd have to say I was a fan of all the courses minus the beef tartare - that's not quite my jam.  We had an incredible soup, the most tender chicken, and beef served two ways before an incredible cheesecake dessert was served.

While the meal was beyond words, the company was even better.  We had the best time chatting and leisurely sipping and eating the goodness.

On a different day, we headed north the the national park...

The scenery was exquisite and diverse - lots of cactus and arid plants on the inner part of the park but also a mix of tectonic plates and fossilized rock near the coast.

An old light house that has seen better days...

Beautiful water and coastline, but man did the drop-off make me nervous.  There was no surviving a fall from there.

A beautiful coastline...

Some pictures take some finagling to get...

At one point in the national park, we stopped my an area that was supposed to be good for having a picnic.  We found a shady area not far from the water and started to pull out all our stuff.  We were soon invaded by a little lizard that must have also liked picnics.

I was not a fan of the little lizard and Ryan was kind enough to begrudgingly shoo it away.  This little creature ran into the cavernous rock and must have summoned the mob because before we knew it, there was more than one lizard that wanted lunch.

The mob of lizards were mingling by which wasn't going to work for me, so we had to pack up and move closer to the water.  Apparently the mob of lizards don't like water.  It actually worked in our favor because this was the view we had while ate our lunch.  Gorgeous, right?

We tried to recreate a beach picture from our last trip, but the waves had different plans for us...

We had to settle for this...

Another afternoon we headed "downtown" to do a little souvenir shopping for the kids. Aren't the buildings just the cutest?

The boys also procured some fish for dinner one evening.  The fisherman's house/shop...

The week went incredibly fast and before we knew it, it was time to go.

It was hard to say goodbye to a place as gorgeous as this.

Another amazing vacation in the books with the most amazing peeps.  Can't wait for the next one!
