Proud...

The girls, as part of the student council, have been busy these past couple weeks collecting and counting food for the local food cupboard at school.  To culminate the food drive, they loaded all the food and delivered it to the food cupboard last week.

This was posted on Facebook from the local food shelter...

We are beyond proud of their hard work and dedication with this service project and are thrilled that they have supported such a worthy cause for our community!

Another college made their decision yesterday, with heightened anticipation of opening the letter...

Clemson was a yes!!!!  She now has choices with another college accepting her.  More decisions come out middle to end of January.  Will Quinn become a Clemson Tiger?

2023 Christmas Ornaments

Another great year for the girls, and another fun year picking out ornaments for them and the family.  Here are the ornaments for 2023.

Quinn

Laptop of College Applications

It's hard to believe that Quinn has started her journey into college already.  She spent countless hours visiting, researching, applying and writing essays to seven different colleges this year.  Before long, she will make her decision and will know where she will end up next year.

Funko Pop/ Spiderman

Quinn has a fascination with superheroes, and of all superheroes Spider-man is her favorite.  She also has quite the collection of Funko Pops, so this ornament that married the two interests of hers was a no brainer.

Sullivan

Make-Up

This ornament is representative of one of Sullivan's many loves - make-up!  The girl knows more about make-up than me, hands down.  I'm a bit envious of her knowledge of all things in this realm.

Braces & Earrings

We couldn't find a good ornament that depicted Sullivan's new addition of braces this year, so we went ahead and made our own.  We found some teeth earrings (also a revisited obsession of Sullivan's this year - the earrings, not the teeth) and attached some braces brackets to it!

Quinn and Sullivan

Taylor Swift

The girls experienced a once in a lifetime concert this summer when they got to see Taylor Swift in concert with Nate and Lila.  It was quite the concert and core memories were made that day.  This ornament represents the piano that Taylor played when she played their secret song (Dorothea) during the concert.

Family

Disney 2023

A memorable Disney highlight (for most) this year was being able to ride Slinky Dog Dash for the first time.  While it was not my favorite ride (hence the "No Bueno" tag that Slinky is wearing), Disney World did not disappoint this year.  We had some great times at Disney once again.

Another great year full of amazing memories, another great year of ornaments too!

Accepted!

Quinn got her first official acceptance letter into college today.  Wahoo!!!

Appalachian State extended an acceptance offer to Quinn with a scholarship attached for academic excellence.  While this is super exciting news, this is just the first of the seven.  Waiting patiently (or not!!) for the others to respond in January so she can make some tough decisions.

Will Quinn become a Mountaineer?!

Lighting Things Up...

We went to the Chinese Lantern Festival while Nana and Papa were in town.  We had been a couple years back, but we were happy to return again this year and bring Paul along too!

There was some pretty incredible light displays...

We had some pretty amazing company.  Along with Nana and Papa, we were thrilled that Paul decided to join us in the festivities.

We got to see the Chinese animal associated with our birth year and what that says about our character.

We had a great time enjoying the light displays.  There was a nip in the air which made it feel all that more like Christmas.  It was great!
