Lap Dog

Tessa doesn't know her own size.

Apparently she thinks she is a lap dog!

Irony...

On Sunday, we celebrated our favorite male in the house for Father's Day.  He might be the only male, but that doesn't change the fact that he's our favorite!  Quinn wasn't here to help celebrate, so Tessa was our stand-in substitute to ensure Ryan got 100% love and adoration that day.

Ryan got to do all the things he loves to do - exercising, being outside, playing in the yard.  The night ended as it typically does on Father's Day around here- by him grilling out.  I always find that ironic.  It should be a day of rest and relaxation, yet he is out there sweating away and working hard to provide the most delicious meal!

We appreciate Ryan so much - not only for the amazing meal, but for all he does for us every day.  The million things that he does for us on the daily often goes without mention, but it doesn't go unnoticed.  He is loved beyond measure and more than he knows!

Forty-Four...

Yesterday was a great birthday for me.  We missed Quinn in the celebrations (since she is still up in Michigan for camp), but I was treated like a queen by Sullivan and Ryan.

I failed to get many pictures, but they took me out to lunch and dinner so that no one had to cook!  Birthday dessert was from Crumble, since they were serving their Rice Krispie treat this week.  Yum!

The older I get the more I appreciate the quiet birthdays.  Yesterday was no exception!  Aside from not having Quinn home with us, it was the perfect day spent with my peeps.

Camp Bound...

On Saturday, Quinn was reunited with some of her favorite peeps...

Quinn flew solo to Indy to meet up with Sam and his family.  They made their way to Michigan on Sunday in preparation for camp for the next couple of weeks.

It's going to be quiet around here without her, but I guess this is a test run for to see what it is like for Sullivan to be the only child in the house.  We will miss Quinn, but we know she is having a blast and living her best life!

Deja Vu - Last Day...

Today marked the last day of 8th grade and the last day in middle school for Sullivan....

That means she is officially a high schooler.  How in the world!?!  It was yesterday that she was entering kindergarten in Indiana and in a flash she has grown up and is now in high school.

Eighth grade has proven to be Sullivan's year.  She had great teachers that inspired and encouraged her.  She developed some pretty great new friendships and strengthened already established friendships with a group of friends that are truly remarkable.  She stepped outside her comfort zone and joined the cheerleading team and found a new love and passion.  Middle school was great for her, and I have no doubt high school will be the same!

Here is Sullivan's first day vs. last day picture....

Not a huge change from the beginning of the year to the end of the year in terms of appearance.  If nothing else though, Sullivan is very consistent in what she likes.  Same shorts, similar shoes, and a similar colored top!

I can't wait to see what the future holds for this sweet girl!

Last Day...

Today was Quinn's last day of her junior year in high school...

That means this sweet girl is officially a senior in high school.  I am not sure how we got from kindergarten to senior year in the blink of an eye, but here we are!

Here is the first day vs. last day photo....

A difference a handful of months can make.  Here's to a restful, relaxing summer before gearing up for a whirlwind senior year full of great memories, happy moments, and potentially a small amount of tears (at least from her mama)!
