Freezing and Cold...

Much like the rest of the country, we have experienced some (southern) cold weather here in North Carolina.  A couple of weeks ago they forecasted snow for us.  We got a bit of sleety snow in the evening, that didn't last long past sunrise.  That didn't stop a lot of people from getting out and enjoying the (rare to NC) snow.

Quinn and friends took advantage of the snow fall and had some fun...

This past week, they called for a splash of snow again.  In true southern fashion, they released school early in preparation for the night time snow fall.   We did get some beautiful snowfall that evening...

Sullivan wanted very little to do with the snow (smart girl!), but did step outside to check it out.

That little dusting of snow canceled school for 2 1/2 days!  That, not the snow, was super exciting for Sullivan.  Quinn even had classes canceled for her as well.  Leave it to the south to shut down at the first from of snow!

More Shenanigans...

Over Winter Break, we took in a couple of movies... if you haven't seen them, they both come highly recommended by all of us.

We also went to Top Golf, where everyone (but me) was on their A-Game.  Quinn and Ryan each won one game, but Sullivan was on fire!  She won all the rest of the games we played!

I joked that she needs to join the golf team, but that idea fell very flat with her.  Nonetheless, fun was had by all! Maybe, just maybe, I will win a game next time.  I'm not holding my breath though.

Back At It...

Christmas was strangely quiet around here in North Carolina.  We missed our family and traditions in South Dakota immensely, but we were right where we needed to be this year.  We took the time to lay low, be lazy, and enjoy each other's company.

The holiday season started with Quinn getting her wisdom teeth extracted.  She was such a trooper and followed the doctor's orders seriously.  She applied ice and heat, stayed on top of her med management, and avoided dry sockets completely.  It went way better than any of us expected it to go!

Sullivan spent Christmas eve night at her friend Fabi's house...

She also got together with her close friends for their Secret Santa exchange...

Christmas morning was low key.  We slept in (teenagers!), ate some caramel rolls, and opened presents.  Some pics from Christmas morning...

We spent the day in our comfy clothes, and after opening presents, fulfilled an annual Christmas tradition and did a puzzle from start to finish.  We were missing our puzzle guru, Uncle Matt, to help us.

More to come on a few other shenanigans from holiday break...!
