Fourth of July in SD....

Quinn and Sullivan love Fourth of July - more specifically the Fourth of July in South Dakota.  They love spending time with cousins, family, and Halle.  We haven't been able to make that work in our schedule the past couple of years, but thankfully this year it all worked out.  

Derek and Emily invited us down to Beresford to spend the day and night with them.  The girls were thrilled to not only spend time with the cousins, but also with Halle.  It was a no brainer for us to go and were so thankful for the invite.  

The afternoon started out at the Beresford pool...

Emily ALWAYS has great craft ideas, and this year's craft did not disappoint.  This year's craft was reverse tie-dying.  Getting the shirts ready...

For this craft, You take an already colored t-shirt, rubber brand it up like you would a typical tie-dye process, and then spray the shirt with bleach.  

The results are something fantastic....

There was also water games...

The water games quickly turned into a water fight...

A great feast followed the crafts, water fight, and games....

We vegged a bit and enjoyed each other's company...

Malachi took quite a liking to Quinn...

Then we took in the Beresford fireworks display as a group, then headed back to the house for our own pyro fun.  

A good time had by all... 

this 4th of July proved to be a huge success and lots of memories were made!

Recreating Memories...

With the house being empty and all of our material belongings packed on a truck, the girls wanted to recreate memories from our last move with an empty house.  

Enjoy these “before” and “after” pictures from 2014 and today.  In a time of sadness and saying goodbye, these were fun to recreate and brought a few smiles along the way of making them.

Not quite the height difference that there once was!

Big Changes Ahead...

The last week of June brought about many changes for the Pooley family.  The journey to saying goodbye to Indiana officially started.  The movers came…

We were up to our noses in boxes…literally.  

July 3, 2021 officially marked our goodbye.  The house was empty and no longer looked like our home.  Just a beautiful empty house, filled with lots of fond memories).  Lots of laughter, love, some tears, and firsts happened in this house.  We said goodbye to our sweet Duff in this house, but also opened our hearts to our sweet Tessa.  Oh the memories this house holds.  

This great house on Blooming Orchard was good to us.  We moved to Indiana knowing ZERO people.  Not one single familiar face.  Over the past 7 years, we have accumulated a lot of things (as the mover so bluntly pointed out to me, “You have a lot of stuff!”).  But more importantly we accumulated a tribe of amazing people we now call friends, and some we might even classify as framily.  

Indiana… you were good to us.  We are forever grateful for the time and the memories.  Onward and upward - our adventure continues and the next chapter of our life begins.  North Carolina, you have big shoes to fill.  We have high hopes!
