Numero Cinco...

Quinn has had a loose tooth on her lower right side for quite some time.  There is hardly a day that goes by that Quinn does question, "When is my tooth coming out?!"

On Tuesday she was determined to get that tooth out no matter what.... she wiggled and tugged, pulled and pushed.

Success....!!!!  The tooth came out with one last tug from Mom!  

We were questioning Quinn as to whether she thought the Tooth Fairy would find her here in Indiana.  She without a doubt was certain the Tooth Fairy would find her.  After all, when Quinn lost her tooth in a hotel room in Kansas City, the Tooth Fairy was able to find her there.  So why wouldn't she be able to find us in our new house?

Quinn was right... the Tooth Fairy had no problem finding her here.  She left Quinn two dollars, both folded in the shape on a ring.

She also left quite a complementary note about how well Quinn has been brushing her teeth and how shiny and healthy her tooth looked.  She even let Quinn keep her tooth, as Quinn had hoped she would!

Quite a success for tooth number five!!

13 Years...

It seems like only yesterday that Ryan and I were planning our wedding, yet in some ways it seems like I have known Ryan forever.  Today marks our 13th anniversary and boy has life changed in the past 13 years.  

We started our journey together on July 28, 2001 - young, in love, and ready for the future ahead.

Since that beautiful day, we have been blessed in more ways than we can count.  Most notably, our two beautiful babies.  Little did we know how much they would change our lives in such an amazing way.  They are truly our greatest adventure.  

 

We might not be so young anymore, but we are certainly still in love and ready for what life has to offer us in the next 13 years (and beyond)!  To reflect on how fast these 13 years went by and to think the next thirteen will go just as quick.... we will be empty-nesters at that time.  Yikes! 

Happy Anniversary, Ryan!  I love you!

That Time of Year....

My girls have been hounding me for the past couple of weeks to go get school supplies.  There just seems to be something not right about getting them before the Fourth of July.  So I held them off as long as I could, and finally buckled this week.

I have to admit I was a little bit teary about Miss Sullivan getting supplies.  It seems impossible that she is going to school this year.  She seems so little.  But that might just be me secretly not wanting to let go of the littlest child.  Maybe.

The girls had a blast picking out the things they needed, finding that "just right" folder, and of course the backpack.  Who can start a brand new school year without a brand new backpack?!

Sullivan and Quinn are both excited about school starting, which given the big move to a brand new area, makes me ecstatic to hear and makes my heart happy.  It's only a couple of weeks away...eek!

Reborn Again...

This weekend we worked on getting the garage squared away.  I have been epoxying the garage floor for the past couple of weeks and finished that up this weekend.  Ryan got his work bench set up and it looks fabulous.

While we were busy taking care of those tasks, the girls stumbled upon these in a crate in the garage....

All my Beanie Babies from centuries ago!!

Do you remember when they were so popular (late 90s)?!?  When a person (like myself!) thought they could actually collect ALL of them (and that they would be worth a fortune in the future)?!

The girls had a blast looking at all of them, lining them all up, sorting them out and claiming them ALL for themselves!  It was fun for me to see them enjoying those Beanies after being tucked away for nearly 15-20 years.  It was definitely a stroll down Memory Lane!

Funny Conversation...

We were hanging around the house today, with several "to do" items that needed to be checked off the list.  The girls were busy entertaining themselves with stamps, play doh, playing school, doing beads... you name it, they did it.

I was eavesdropping on their conversation as I was busy working.  Their conversation brought a smile to my face...

S:  I am going to live with Mama forever 'cuz I love her a lot.

Q:  Well you'll probably live with Dad forever too since Dad lives with Mom.

S:  Nah ah Quinn. Dad is going to die.  He's older than Mama.

Q:  Oh.

Out of the mouths of babes!!  As if Ryan is decades older than me.
